​Towards a sustainable future, forest and marine conservation efforts and management through a holistic approach is seriously needed. The matter was among those stressed upon during the Closing Ceremony of the Brunei Darussalam Conference on Forest to reef. The ceremony took place at the International Conference Centre in Berakas.

Dayang Noralinda binti Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism also emphasised that the discoveries made by the Scientific Expedition team highlight the richness of the country's biodiversity and its critical role in maintaining ecological balance.

Earlier, the conference summary among other matters touched on findings on the Brunei River and its impact on the community. The conference was organised by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Forestry Department and Department of Fisheries, in partnership with Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Poni Group Sendirian Berhad in conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition, MYCE 2025.
